Al Wakrah sack their head coach Nouredin Zakri after their latest defeat in the Qatar Stars League. The loss came at the hands of this year’s newly promoted side Al Shahania. The 1-0 defeat was the final straw as the club’s administration thought it best to part ways with the Algerian tactician.
The team is languishing in the bottom half of the table in 12th place with just 16 points. In their last six games they have won two, drawn two and lost two.
Serbian head coach Goran Tufegdzic the former technical director of the Kuwait national team is due to fly into Doha today to negotiate with Al Wakrah’s administration and assume responsibility for the team for the remainder of the season.
