Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) recently launched the fourth edition of its Springboard programme, organised in co-operation with British Council Qatar and Springboard UK, with the objective of achieving the professional, economic and social empowerment of Qatari women.

The opening ceremony was attended by Manal al-Sulaiti, head of QRC Community Development; Maha al-Sheikh, empowerment specialist; and Marwa al-Tanbouli, Springboard programme manager at the British Council.

Lasting for four weeks, the course is attended by 18 women from poor families in Qatar. The programme comprises four workshops that provide the participants with practical training and activities in successful planning for their lives, prioritisation, orientation, perfection, teamwork and building of positive
relationships.

They also meet with prominent figures from different walks of life, who share their success stories, the challenges they faced and how they could
overcome them.

The programme is organised under a memorandum of understanding between QRC and the British Council. During its three previous courses, the programme received 54 women at a total cost of QR112,000. It is developed by two of the world’s top personal development consultants, Jenny Daisley and Liz Willis.
