The Minister of Youth and Sports HE Salah bin Ghanim Al-Ali has issued ministerial decision No.140 of 2014 on organising Qatar’s Sports Day after adopting recommendations of a joint committee.
The joint committee to oversee Qatar Sports Day has prepared a comprehensive report on the sports day activities held in the past three years. On the basis of the report, several recommendations were made, and standards and requirements were developed for marking Qatar’s Sports Day on February 10, 2015.
In preparation for organising Sports Day, and in order to provide the appropriate conditions for the success of all events, and to ensure the achievement of the desired objectives contained in the Emiri Decree No.80 for the year 2011, on Qatar's Sports Day of the State, the joint committee to oversee Sports Day evaluates the activities of the previous three years, said the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The committee reviewed the positive aspects of the marking Sports Day such as the high rates of participation during the previous three years, the diversity of age and social groups which participate in the sports events and the positive local and international reactions towards Sports Day in addition to broad participation and great importance attached to the event by the government agencies as well as public and private companies and institutions in addition to the media coverage of the events.
