Ooredoo has announced that it is offering customers free calls and unlimited mobile Internet on Qatar National Day.

As part of Ooredoo’s celebrations, all Shahry Smart and Hala Smart subscribers will receive free unlimited local calls and mobile data from today until December 19.

New and existing Hala and Shahry Mobile Internet Pack subscribers will also receive unlimited mobile Internet during the period.

Ooredoo has come up with the offer to enable customers to share pictures and videos of the Qatar National Day celebrations on social media, as well as stay in touch with friends during this occasion.

To get the free local calls and data, customers have to subscribe to Hala Smart by sending ‘Qatar’ to 121 or Shahry Smart by sending ‘Qatar’ to 114. All extra data and call minutes valid from today until December 19 will be used first and removed automatically at the end of the period.

In addition to using the unlimited data to surf the Internet, Ooredoo is also enabling customers to share the reasons why they are proud to live in Qatar and get the chance to win an iPhone 6 and Qatar National Day car branding.

The stories will be published in a special Qatar National Day commemorative book.

People can take part in the legacy campaign by visiting the dedicated website, http://qatarslegacy.ooredoo.qa, or posting their stories on social media with the hashtag #QatarsLegacy. Submissions can include stories, pictures, songs, videos and artwork.

The “Book of Legacies” will include the best submissions from the public and Ooredoo employees and will be distributed for free to everyone with content published in the book.

Ooredoo is providing full communication services at Darb Al Saai, the main centre for Qatar National Day celebrations at Al Sadd in Doha. At this year’s celebration, visitors can enjoy cultural activities, including learning about the proper way of receiving and welcoming guests according to local traditions, Arabic coffee making, storytelling featuring historic tales of ancestors, poetry recitals and listening to authentic Qatari melodies.

Ooredoo is hosting a special booth in the area to ensure that people can stay connected throughout the celebrations.
