Qatar Petroleum (QP), together with several of its joint ventures and subsidiaries, is taking part in the ongoing 8th International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC) at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia.

Held under the theme “Innovation and collaboration: keys to affordable energy,” the 8th IPTC is hosted by Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas), with Shell and Schlumberger as the co-hosts of the event. The previous edition of this major industry event was held in Doha in January this year, with QP as the host organisation and ExxonMobil as the co-host.

The QP exhibition stand at the 8th IPTC prominently showcases the corporation’s operations, including the activities of its Industrial Cities Directorate. The stand also features the displays of QP’s five joint ventures and subsidiaries, namely Qatargas, RasGas, Qatar Petrochemical Company (Qapco), Qatar Fuel Additives Company (Qafac), and Qatar Petroleum International (QPI).

Apart from their strong presence in the exhibition, the Qatar delegation also plays a key role in the 8th IPTC Conference. A number of officials from QP, Qatargas, RasGas and QPI are scheduled to deliver presentations as part of the event’s technical programme. In addition, the RasGas Expansion Phase 2 (RGX2) Project has been announced as the winner of the ‘IPTC Excellence in Project Integration Award’. QP is the sponsor of the 8th IPTC Closing Session on December 12, during which all the exhibitors and delegates will be invited to participate in the 9th IPTC, which will be held again in Doha.

Scheduled for December 6 to 9, 2015 at the Qatar National Convention Centre, the 9th IPTC will once again be hosted by QP, with Shell as the co-host organisation.
