More than 200 employees from ExxonMobil Qatar’s joint venture partners have received training since mid-October under the Tamayoz training programme. |
ExxonMobil Qatar’s Tamayoz programme provides professional and personal development opportunities for valued joint venture partner Qatar Petroleum and joint ventures RasGas and Qatargas.
Offering 10 courses since mid-October under a range of disciplines, including project management, leadership and personal effectiveness, technical, commercial and operations excellence, the ExxonMobil Qatar Tamayoz training programme has positioned itself as the marquis corporate development programme in Doha, according to a statement.
All initiatives in the Tamayoz programme are led by ExxonMobil subject-matter experts and offered free of charge for participants with the aim of enhancing sustainability for Qatar’s future.
Under the project management discipline, three courses were offered during October and November - beginning with contract planning development and administration (24 participants), followed by bid review guidelines and practices for major projects (19) and finally construction safety & risk awareness (21).
The project management courses aim to provide fundamental understanding and practical knowledge, including basic concepts and applications, for the specific subject matter.
Two technical courses were held in the technical (surface and subsurface) area: electrical fundamentals for facility engineers and fundamental geoscience subsurface interpretation. These courses tend to target smaller groups of highly-specialised employees, gearing up attendees with the skills and background knowledge necessary to immediately apply what they have learned to their day-to-day roles as facility engineers, geologists or as scientists seeking technology updates.
The advanced influence and negotiations course is part of the commercial discipline. Held from November 16-18, the course aims to develop the ability to influence and negotiate effectively within an organisation and with external partners for the purpose of achieving broader corporate objectives. The course was attended by 24 participants.
The operations excellence group was highly dynamic in November, featuring no fewer than three programmes that reached nearly 100 participants through training sessions covering fundamentals of maintenance and reliability, advanced planning and scheduling and finally the all-important LNG overview, which garnered 52 participants for the one-day programme.
Under the leadership and personal effectiveness category, the influencing without authority training programme emphasised the need to build stronger, mutually beneficial partnerships by fostering active engagement and ongoing dialogue with stakeholders. This course saw 14 participants.
“The Tamayoz training programme clearly demonstrates ExxonMobil’s ongoing commitment to the human development pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030,” said Alistair Routledge, vice-president and joint interest manager of ExxonMobil Qatar.
