Following the successful ‘Total Integration Days’ (TID) event held for the first time in Doha by the French energy major, participants from seven different countries representing 18 nationalities shared their positive experiences of the induction exercise.

Over 80 new employees from Total affiliates worldwide participated in the TID activities, aimed at integrating new arrivals in the workplace and promoting the Total culture.

A variety of engaging and interactive presentations and games were organised during the three-day TID programme, including a team building exercise themed on a fictional crime.

The participants were also introduced to the local culture by spending an evening touring Doha, one of only four locations worldwide chosen to host TID events this year.

Victor Okoronkwo, instrumentation engineer at Total E&P Nigeria, said: “I thoroughly enjoyed the TID organised in Doha. It was a great chance to make new contacts and understand our business more broadly.”

Mouza al-Derham, training and recruitment co-ordinator at Total E&P Qatar, said the TID was a highly effective way to understand Total’s core activities and the policies of the group.

“It’s a valuable opportunity to meet colleagues from around the world and to understand one’s responsibilities and the opportunities as an employee of Total.”

Guillaume Chalmin, managing director at Total E&P Qatar and Group Representative said:  “This year’s Total Integration Days exercise has been very successful and it was very gratifying to see so many employees from different affiliates come together to learn how our company works and what makes it successful.”

Total has had a continuous presence in Qatar for close to 80 years, and is the only international oil company active in all branches of Qatar’s oil and gas sector. This includes exploration and production, refining and petrochemicals, and the marketing of lubricants.
