Al Sadd’s training session, earlier this week on Monday, witnessed playmaker Khalfan Ibrahim Khalfan back with the first team, after recovering from his knee injury. The injury occurred just before the Gulf Cup of Nations, which the Maroons won for the third time in their history.
Khalfan was out of action from the beginning of November and was receiving treatment at Aspetar Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in Doha.
Al Sadd had their main training session on Monday afternoon in preparation for their round 13 Qatar Stars League match against Al Shamal which takes place tomorrow.
The Wolves will enter this match leading the league table with 32 points from 10 wins and two draws. Whilst Al Shamal football club is at the bottom of the table in 14th place with just 4 points.
The technical staff lead by the Moroccan Head Coach Hussein Ammouta was keen to meet with the players before the beginning of the main training session in order to talk about the importance of the clash against Al Shamal despite the difference in points.
The main focus during the training session was on increasing the intensity of the session in order to improve the players’ fitness.
