Interpol is holding a training workshop for the non-commissioned officers working with Airport Passports Department. |
The objective is to introduce the missions and functions of the department and train them in the systems used by Interpol in border ports of the country, including Hamad International Airport and how to deal with lost or stolen passports data-based by Interpol.
Ft Lt Ahmad Majali al-Jassim, head of the International Police Section at Communication Department of Interpol, said that the training workshop aims to raise awareness of the employees of the departments concerned.
He pointed out that the dealing with lost or stolen passports are related to technical systems known as MIND/FIND that would enable to identify the problems with passports accurately in the case of suspicion.
A total of 350 officers will participate in the workshop’s different sessions. They will be deployed in various sections of the Airport Passports Department.
Abdul Rahman al-Thani, trainer at Interpol, said that Interpol had started its training campaign since 2011 and already trained 600 personnel from different departments such as Criminal Investigation Department, Traffic and Airport Passports Department.
