Qatar Rail has said it is committed to applying Qatar National Datum QND95, an international level standard in projects relating to infrastructure.
“We are keen to comply with the highest standards in all areas related to our works, and the QND95, being the official system adopted by the state, is one to which our company shows commitment,” Ahmed al-Marwani, senior technical interface manager at Qatar Rail told the recently concluded workshop. The workshop was held in association with the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning (MMUP), the Centre for Geographic Information Systems (CGIS) and the Building Permit Complex Department (BPC). The event was marked by the distinguished presence of more than 200 representatives from the consulting offices as well as MMUP representatives. Other Qatar Rail attendees included Mohamed Ali Eissa, civil-structural technical approval engineer; Ashwin Rabadia, technical interface manager; and Hamad al-Qahtani, the Red Line South interface manager. On behalf of MMUP (CGIS), Mohamed Ali El Merri, head of Topographic Section, attended the workshop, along with Mubarak Mahboub al-Naiemi from MMUP (BPC). “In the future, we are preparing to issue a circular to all engineering consultancy offices to comply with the QND95 system and to submit drawings according to that for any project falling inside Qatar Rail Protection Zone,” according to al-Naiemi.
