Ooredoo yesterday launched “Ooredoo Money,” a new smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices.

The Ooredoo Money app further simplifies the use of mobile money for customers, so they can check their finances, transfer money around the world through MoneyGram, and complete daily tasks such as Hala top up or paying Ooredoo bills from their mobile phone.

Currently all these services are available through Ooredoo’s USSD menu (*140#), and the Ooredoo Money App will add a new and more convenient option for customers.

The Ooredoo Money app, available on the Google Play and iTunes store, is expected to receive a high number of downloads, as the award-winning mobile financial service is very popular in Qatar with thousands of registered users.

Fatima Sultan al-Kuwari, director Community & Public Relations, Ooredoo, said: “Through great rates and offers, Mobile Money is now one of the most popular money transfer services in Qatar and the Ooredoo Money app will not only give users more access and control over their finances, but also introduce the money-saving service to a wider variety of people wanting to send money overseas.”

Previously customers could register for Ooredoo’s Mobile Money service at any Ooredoo Shop or by dialling *140# on their mobile.

Now customers can download the Ooredoo Money app for free, where a host of easy options such as registering and setting up a Mobile Wallet mPIN are available.

Existing mobile money users can use their mobile number and the 6-digit mPIN combination to sign in to the App and enjoy range of available services.

Ooredoo Money App can be used to send money for collection at 347,000 local MoneyGram agents in 200 countries around the world, securely and reliably – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
