South Indian superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal will feature together, for the first time in 14 years, in Doha at a stage show titled Nakshaktra Ravu, to be held at West End Park on November 6.

The organisers said the show, to be directed by Malayalam film director-producer Ranjith, would also see the participation of about 40 film stars from the Malayalam industry.

They include new faces Dulquar Salman, Fahad Fazil, senior actors Dileep, Jayaram and Kalabhavan Mani, this year’s best actor award winner at the Indian National Film Awards Suraj Venjaramoodu, Indian lawmaker and popular comedian Innocent, and several other frontline actors and actresses. Swetha Menon, Kavya Menon, Namitha Pramod and Mythili are also expected.

At a briefing yesterday,  organisers Doha Stage formally released the show’s tickets. Managing director of Saudia Group of Companies N K Musthafa handed over the first ticket to Nizar Chomayil of Tri-Valley Group to mark the occasion. Saudia Group is the main sponsor.

The organisers said they expected between 9,000 and 12,000 spectators at the show. Besides an award ceremony, the event would also feature comedy skits, dances and a musical concert.

The event is being held in association with the Kerala Film Producers’ Association, said Ranjith. Besides Ranjith and show organiser A V Musthafa, veteran stage show organisers Mummy Century Moideen and R S Moideen and Argon Global CEO Abdul Ghafoor also spoke.
