Qatar Duty Free has announced the official opening of Argo Tea Cafe inside Hamad International Airport’s arrivals hall.

Attended by Arsen Avakian, the entrepreneur behind the successful concept, the café opening provided an opportunity for passengers to gain an insight into the personality behind the brand.

DiversiTEA, CreativiTEA and QualiTEA have become synonymous with challenging the traditional perception of tea.

With 30 signature blends of tea available at the new outlet, customers are invited to taste four different blends that are rotated every day at the tea host table with guidance from an Argo Tea specialist (all trained at the company’s universiTEA).

“With Argo Tea’s rapid expansion into the Middle East, we wanted our passengers at Hamad International Airport, to be some of the first to enjoy the unique experience that this unique beverage concept has to offer,” said Keith Hunter, senior vice-president of Qatar Duty Free .

“Argo Tea is a great fit in our food and beverage portfolio, as it exemplifies our strategy of handpicking niche brands to enhance our passengers’ journey through the airport, while adding an element of discovery and surprise when they are looking for dining options.

Argo Tea was launched by Avakian in the United States 12 years ago and has attracted a strong following of tea lovers inspired by the 100% natural fusions of tea, juice, flowers, honey and spices that are blended by his team of mixologists and nutritionists into healthy but flavoursome tea combinations.

“We are honoured to be part of the prestigious Hamad International Airport and to open one of our flagship outlets for the region here,” says Avakian, Founder and CEO of Argo Tea.

“Qatar is becoming a global hub for regional and international travellers and we are delighted to have such diverse exposure to our brand in this strategically important location,” he concludes.
