Jassim & Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation has donated QR4mn to Comoros for building of a cultural complex consisting of a mosque and school in the island nation, situated close to Madagascar in the Indian Ocean.

Announcing this yesterday, Charitable Foundation’s chief executive officer Saaed al-Hajri said the financial assistance is in line with the humanitarian and charitable activities undertaken by the foundation and is made after realising the needs and requirements of the people of Comoros.

The proposed complex will incorporate Arabic, Islamic and local architectural features of Comoros.

Al-Hajri said more than two years ago their charity had made a similar donation for building a hospital in Comoros, which is in the final stages of construction now.

The charity CEO said the foundation has a team to monitor the progress of work at each stage and based on their report the financial assistance is made to the beneficiaries.

Comoros ambassador to Qatar Hadji Abdallah Abdulhamid, who was also present at the briefing thanked Qatar government and Charitable Foundation for their keenness in supporting the people of his country.
