HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, who is also chairman of the Supreme Council for the Police College, presided over the second meeting of the council held at the college headquarters in Sailiya on Friday.
The meeting was attended by HE Major General Dr Abdullah Yusuf al-Mal, legal adviser to the Minister of Interior, who is also deputy chairman of the Supreme Council for the Police College; Brigadier Dr Mohamed Abdullah al-Muhana, director-general of the Police College and a member of the council; Brig Gen Badr Ibrahim al-Ghanim, director of the Technical Office for the Office of the Minister of Interior and member and rapporteur of the council; Brig Mehdi Mutlaq al-Qahtani, director of Training and Courses at Lekhwiya; Dr Yusuf Mohamed Obaidan Fakhro, expert at Emiri Diwan; Dr Ahmed Hassan al-Hammadi, director of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Dr Khalid Mohamed al-Hurr, director of the Higher Education Board; and Dr Abdul Aziz al-Khulaifi, dean of the College of Law, Qatar University.
During the meeting, the council reviewed topics on the agenda and took appropriate decisions, including national human resources orientation for faculty members of the college. There was also a briefing on the preparations planned by the college authorities, including the education and training plan for the academic year (2014/2015), even as the council discussed a range of other topics listed on the agenda.
Emiri Decision No. 161 of 2013 drew up the outline for the establishment and organisation of the college.
The college aims to develop scientifically and practically qualified cadres in the areas of law and police realms to be officers of the police force.
