A Qatari who won QR100,000 cash prize in the third raffle draw of the Qatar Tourism Authority’s Shopping Fun says he wants to donate the money to Palestine.
“I want to donate the cash to help the people of Palestine,” said Mohamed Ahmad al-Meer.
He also won a new Audi car at the raffle draw held at Dar Al Salam Mall on Saturday.
“About the car, I might give it to my son,” al-Meer told Gulf Times.
He was the fifth Audi car winner and the third QR100,000 cash winner of the Shopping Fun, part of the Qatar Summer Festival.
He said he shopped in various malls in the past few weeks but was not expecting to win two major prizes.
A sales person in one of the participating malls told Gulf Times that al-Meer is one of their regular customers.
The fourth raffle draw will be held at The Pearl-Qatar on September 13 between 7.30pm and 8.30pm.Two cars and another batch of cash prizes will be given away by QTA.
An organiser said a minimum purchase of QR200 from participating shops and retail outlets at The Pearl-Qatar, The Mall, City Center Doha, Hyatt Plaza, Al Khor Mall and Dar Al Salam Mall entitles a shopper to one raffle coupon.
“This is their last chance to drive home a brand new car and win cash prizes. Anyone can also win two or even three of the major prizes,” he added.
Like other previous winners, al-Meer also lauded QTA for giving people a chance to win big prizes through various initiatives this summer. Customers can also get huge discounts from various boutiques and retail shops.
QTA has organised numerous activities and events across the country such as Family Fun at the Doha Exhibition Centre, Fountain Fun on the Corniche across from Al Murjan Restaurant, Adventure Fun in Al Khor, and Splash Fun in Al Wakrah.
Fifteen shops owned by Qatari entrepreneurs took part in a weekly outdoor exhibition known as the Instagram Summer Market on the Corniche.
