Cars with
defects
are sold
as ‘new’

A section of citizens has accused some companies and dealers of exhibiting cars with defects and claiming that they are new vehicles, local Arabic daily Al Sharq has reported.

The citizens point out that these showrooms lure clients through advertisements and websites, offering low prices. They also manage to sell such vehicles without any technical inspection as this is usually not done for new cars, the report states.

They claim that a number of people have been exposed to such fraudulent practices. For instance, some customers find out after driving the vehicle for some time that the car was involved in an accident earlier and had been repainted for this reason, according to the citizens.
