On Sunday at the Millennium Hotel in Doha the League’s performance analysis specialists Prozone held their annual workshop. This was an opportunity to introduce the six new coaches to the player performance software and give a refresher course to the coaches from last season.
The workshop was attended by Ahmed al-Harmi, the head of Competition and Football Development, Miguel Heitor, Football Development Supervisor and Prozone analyst Andrew Forrester.
Al-Harmi spoke about the League’s goals this season including a new system introduced to monitor player’s attendance at training sessions. In addition, the contract with Prozone was renewed and this season a new software system will be installed to analyse the players during training. The software is called GPS and was designed by VX Sport.
The Prozone instructors explained during the workshop the value of the software to the coaches and went through different match software.
Prozone is a PC based Performance Analysis system that delivers insights by providing accurate, objective and relevant data and information to coaches and players.
Currently Prozone has over 250 clients globally including teams in the Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, La Liga and Ligue 1.
Some of the work that has been done in Qatar over the last couple seasons includes studying trends in the league and benchmarking the QSL against the best leagues in the world.
