 HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz al-Kuwari met several senior British officials on the sidelines of the second Edinburgh International Culture Summit here yesterday.

The Minister held separate meetings with Welsh First Minister Carwyn Jones, Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond , Scottish Minister for External Affairs and International Development Humza Yousaf, UK Minister of State for Culture and Digital Economy Ed Vaizey and British Council Chief Executive Martin Davidson.

The meetings reviewed cultural ties between Qatar and the UK and means of enhancing and developing them.

The British officials praised the Qatari-British ties in the cultural and artistic fields, expressing their gratitude to Qatar for taking part in the International Culture Summit for the first time. They underlined the success of the Qatar-UK Year of Culture, which deepened ties between the Qatari and British peoples as they got to know culture of the other side.

Qatar’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom Khalid al-Mansouri attended the meeting.
