Auto-rickshaw driver Vennapusa Narayanamma drives passengers in her vehicle in the Nijampet district on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Thirty-six-year-old Narayanamma, who earns between Rs300-400 per day, is an uneducated, mother of two children. She has been driving the auto-rickshaw which she bought with the assistance of an NGO for the last five years, and it provides the means to supplement her family income as well as a safe mode of transport for the working women of her community.
