QNB and MasterCard have launched yesterday the first LoungeKey airport access programme in the world for premium banking QNB First members. The programme provides QNB First MasterCard World credit card holders from Qatar, Kuwait, and Oman access to more than 400 premium lounges across 270 airports around the world.
With the LoungeKey programme, QNB First World MasterCard credit card holders from Qatar, Kuwait, and Oman can now enjoy instant access to premium lounges by simply swiping their credit card rather than carrying an additional membership card or voucher.
Across Middle East and Africa alone, QNB World MasterCard credit card holders will have access to 50 premium lounges across prominent airports, including in Oman, UAE, and Bahrain.
QNB general manager Group Retail Heba al-Tamimi said: “Airport lounge access is what the affluent traveller expects, which is why we have partnered with MasterCard to be the first bank in the world to enable QNB First customers access to over 400 airport lounges in all their regular business and leisure travel destinations.”
She added that MasterCard LoungeKey is a key component of a comprehensive suite of premium financial products and services that were recently-introduced under the umbrella of the QNB First Global Recognition Programme, the first banking initiative of its type in the MEA Region.
“At MasterCard, we have been at the forefront of introducing bespoke products that provide frequent travellers with unique and convenient ways to make their journey more comfortable,” said Raghav Prasad, general manager for MasterCard’s operations in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Oman.
With the new programme in place, Prasad said cardholders can now escape crowded airports and unwind in a premium lounge regardless of which airline or class ticket was purchased.
“The MasterCard LoungeKey airport access programme is the latest addition to our portfolio of travel-specific products developed to meet the ever-changing needs of our cardholders,” Prasad explained.
For easy and enhanced cardholder experience, a MasterCard branded LoungeKey website and mobile application was developed. For further information on the programme, a traveller can download the LoungeKey mobile application by searching for “LoungeKey” in the android and iOS app store.
