In a nail-biting match at West End Park Stadium, Q-Chem held their nerve to claim a narrow nine-run victory in the Challenge Cup cricket tournament at the West End Park Stadium on Sunday.

Q-Chem, who won the toss and chose to bat, posted a healthy total of 135 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Deluk (38 runs) & Ammar (22) were the main contributors, with Bilal and Mujtaba taking two and one wickets respectively for Q-Chem.

Khan XI put up an impressive reply with the bat. The pairing of Adnan (37 runs) and Mujtaba (22) drove their team forward. However, they fell nine runs short, finishing with a total of 126 runs. Badar of Q-Chem was named Man of the Match for taking took four wickets, while his team-mate Tahir grabbed three.

West End Park Stadium will host the Challenge Cup until 6th July, 2014. Sixteen teams from the Qatar Cricket Association B & C Divisions are participating in the event.

The Ramadan tournament will follow from 6th July, 2014 and will comprise twelve teams - ten from the Qatar Cricket Association A Division and finalists from the Challenge Cup.
