A victim is rushed to hospital for treatment after six employees of a state-run steel plant died and another 29 were injured in a gas leak at the Bhilai Steel Plant in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, yesterday. The six victims, including two general managers of the steel plant at Bhilai, died when noxious gas leaked from a furnace on Thursday. The Bhilai Steel Plant is one of India’s oldest and was built soon after independence in the 1950s, with help from the former Soviet Union.
