Two workers were killed yesterday when a building they were constructing in Indonesia’s East Kalimantan province collapsed, leaving at least 13 buried, an official said.

Rescuers using excavators sifted through mounds of concrete to find survivors after the unfinished three-storey commercial building collapsed yesterday morning, said Mujiono, the head of the disaster management agency in the provincial capital, Samarinda.

“Other workers who survived said there are 13 people still buried,” said Mujiono, who, like many Indonesians, goes by only one name.
