Mall of Qatar, claimed to be the largest shopping mall in the country when it opens by Q4 2015, is gearing up for a major presence at this year’s Cityscape Qatar.
The mall management plans to make a number of major announcements at the event, particularly regarding its “unique” Family Entertainment Centre, which will bring a number of firsts to the Middle East, one of its key anchor store tenants and its luxury hotel partner. Cityscape Qatar takes place from June 2 to 4.
Construction work is well under way and on schedule. When it opens, the mall will offer an “unrivalled” retail experience in Qatar and attract visitors from across the GCC, the promoters have said in a statement.
The management team at Mall of Qatar is “delighted” with the response they have had from major retailers to join the mall and it is anticipated that by the end of Q3 2014, most of the strategic
agreements will be concluded.
Mall of Qatar is set to have a premium high-profile location at Cityscape to display latest models of the massive project alongside videos, bringing to life what will be a “complete” retail destination catering to the entire Doha community and the region, the statement adds.
The three-day real estate event will give the mall management an opportunity to showcase the potential for retailers to become part of “one of the most exciting, innovative and dynamic” projects of its kind currently being developed in the Gulf.
Mall of Qatar will be a “super regional mall” offering over 400 shops, three major anchors, a luxury five-star hotel, a “unique” Family Entertainment Centre, a “world-class” daily live entertainment concept and an array of 82 international restaurants, cafes and specialty food shops.
This is in addition to the recently announced news that Mall of Qatar has selected Cinemacity to create the largest cineplex in Qatar, with an Imax theatre featuring its next-generation digital laser-projection system that will be one of the 19 screens at the complex.
Speaking on the plans for Cityscape, Mall of Qatar deputy managing director Shem Krey said: “We are using the event to announce a number of new and exciting initiatives in relation to our mall and we will have something different to announce on each of the three days.
