There is a great demand for the cooling industry in Qatar with an ever-increasing scope for investment, HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani has said.
“Expansion in the cooling industry is much needed in the country, especially with implementation of so many huge infrastructure projects,” he said at the inauguration of the international exhibition for cooling, heating, refrigeration, ventilation and insulation systems on Monday at the Qatar National Convention Centre.
The event which concludes tomorrow, has attracted around 91 local and international companies from 13 countries, and industry professionals, suppliers and producers to meet the specialists displaying the latest technologies in heating, cooling, refrigeration, ventilation and insulation system.
A two-day conference is also being held on “Innovations in air conditioning in the field of energy saving,” which university professors, researchers and major companies are taking part in.
After conducting a tour of the different sections of the exhibition, Sheikh Ahmed said the event provided a perfect opportunity to promote and advertise products to building services, trade buyers, consultants, engineers, project managers, technicians and end users.
Sheikh Ahmed said the exhibition is one of the largest of its kind in the region and pointed out that participation in the second edition has been very significant.
The event has brought together experts to look at the synergy between energy conservation and indoor air quality in buildings with a goal to assuring comfort and achieving high-energy conservation, one of the most important demands in GCC Countries.
Waleed Wahba, CEO of Heights Exhibitions & Conferences, which organised the event, said the success of the first edition of the exhibition in 2013 served as a catalyst for the company to organise the second dedicated to showcasing the most important innovations in energy saving fields and in using air-conditioning devices and district
cooling.
