Qatar has sent three planes loaded with relief items to the flood-affected people of Bosnia-Herzegovina under the directive of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani. The standing committee of emergency, rescue and humanitarian assistance, led by Lekhwiya, has despatched the relief materials to the flood-stricken areas. The items included 42 tonnes of  relief materials, medical items, foodstuffs, tents, blankets and solar lamps.

Djibouti blasts condemned

Qatar yesterday condemned the twin explosions that targeted a restaurant in Djibouti, killing two people and injuring 10 others. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement, saying that “such acts contradicted all humanitarian and moral values”. The ministry stressed Qatar’s firm policy rejecting “all forms of violence regardless of its motivation”.
