GWC completes implementation of new warehouse management system

The INFOR WMS, an Enterprise Warehouse Management System, is geared at automating and optimising the company’s inventory base of more than 450 customers under third-party and fourth-party logistics services, under an umbrella of more than 250,000 sq m of built-up facilities.

GWC is the first logistics company in the Middle East to implement the latest version 10.2 of INFOR; including a fully customised ‘Billing Module’ that allows for flexible contract arrangements with customers in a wide variety of business verticals.

For implementation, GWC partnered with Supply Network Solutions (SNS), a leading supply chain consultant in the Middle East.

With hundreds of thousands of stored items under GWC warehousing, GWC needed a powerful WMS to “seamlessly capture inventory attributes and automate the warehouse processes, benefit from paperless RF wireless handhelds, and retain full traceability of their goods from point of receiving to point of shipping from the warehouse.”

The WMS system is hosted on servers at GWC’s own ISO 27000 certified Data Centre at the Logistics Village Qatar.
