HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani met Brigitte Zypries, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany and her accompanying delegation. 

During the meeting, they reviewed relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them as well as aspects of co-operation, particularly in economic, trade and investment fields.

The Minister of Economy and Trade said talks with the German side touched on several topics, foremost of which were strengthening of the trade relations between the two sides and work to increase exports from Qatar to Germany by encouraging the chambers of commerce of the two countries and the private sector to take advantage of the signed agreements and the exchange of visits to achieve their common interests, along with the establishment and participation in exhibitions and trade fairs in both countries. 

The volume of trade exchange between the two countries amounted to about QR6.9bn in 2013.

The most important Qatari exports to Germany are mineral fuels, oils, distillation products, polymer products and organic chemicals, while most important imports included aircraft and their parts, cars, electronic and electrical equipment, pharmaceuticals, grains and various chemical products.
