Qatar National Broadband Network (QNBN) will be taking part in the third edition of the annual Information and Communication Technology Conference and Exhibition “QITCOM 2014” from May 26 to 28 at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).
The three-day event is expected to feature a conference, exhibition, and awards ceremony and would bring together government officials, businesses, industry leaders, and consumers through their shared enthusiasm for ICT and the growth potential of Qatar’s ICT sector.
Qatar National Broadband Network chief executive officer Mohamed al-Mannai said the Networked Readiness Index report commissioned by the World Economic Forum said Qatar ranks as the highest among Arab nations.
“This shift towards a digital knowledge economy is creating greater opportunities for businesses and citizens alike. As such, QNBN fibre optic broadband infrastructure is critical to ensuring sustainable national growth,” al-Mannai said.
As part of the official Ministry of Information and Communication Technology pavilion, QNBN will share its world-class broadband expertise and highlight the many transformational benefits high-speed broadband brings to both businesses and residential users.  
“Taking part in QITCOM gives us the opportunity to join other officials, businesses and industry players to discuss ways to further accelerate the growth of the ICT ecosystem in Qatar. We look forward to this opportunity,” he added.
Qatar National Broadband Network was established with a government mandate to deploy nationwide high-speed fibre optic broadband infrastructure to enable a knowledge-based economy.
As such, QNBN’s network infrastructure supports the latest applications, services, and content while providing customers the choice in selecting service providers for faster, next-generation telecommunication services.
