Abdulrahman al-Sadiq al-Mahdi, assistant to the Sudanese president, yesterday hailed Qatar-Sudan relations as “strong and deep-rooted”.  In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), al-Mahdi said HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani was “wisely leading the State of Qatar in the modern era maintaining close co-operation with all”. Following his participation in the Doha Forum and Enriching the Middle East’s Economic Future Conference last week, al-Mahdi stressed that Qatar was playing a positive role in the region and the world “in a bid to create a reconciliatory vision of the world”, praising Doha’s support to development in Sudan.
