The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal,’ in collaboration with the Traffic Department, will temporarily close a part of Nasser Bin Salmeen Al Suwaidi intersection (Al Sudan) starting today evening. This temporary closure is being implemented to study its impact on the traffic flow on Al Amir (22 February) Street.

Nasser Bin Salmeen Al Suwaidi intersection lanes going from South to North and the lanes heading from North to South will be closed.

This will save time on the two mentioned directions and allow distribution of the green signal time over the other directions.

The closure will help absorb more cars in the direction heading from Al Amir (22 February) Street towards Nasser Bin Salmeen Al Suwaidi intersection, which currently experiences very high traffic density affecting traffic flow on the main route of Al Amir (22 February) Street.

This closure will run for a trail period and aims to study its practicality on easing existing traffic flow.

It was adopted after the approval of the Traffic Department at the Ministry of Interior and the Transportation and Infrastructure Planning Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning, as well as the Traffic Congestion Committee.

Ashghal has requested all motorists to follow the temporary changes at the intersection, and apologised for any inconvenience caused.
