President of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority HE Abdulla bin Hamad al-Attiyah will inaugurate the fourth national conference of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) at the Hilton Hotel starting on May 25.

At the inaugural meeting Ibrahim bin Hashim al-Sada will identify what the Qatar National Vision (QNV-2030) expects from auditors. Phil Tarling, 2012-13 chairman of the IIA Global Board of directors will also address the opening ceremony.

Conference chair Christian Adonis said more than 25 international speakers from the US, Canada, the UK, Hong Kong, South Africa, the UAE and Oman  will make presentations concerning auditors, accountants, risk managers, IT professionals and others. 

The topics have been chosen after detailed deliberations so that they would enable the auditors and other professionals to identify more areas where they could contribute to the realisation of the goals and objectives of the QNV 2030, Adonis said.

Hassan al-Mulla, president of Qatar Chapter said: “Apart from global knowledge from experienced international experts, the region’s top internal auditors will also share their experiences.

“A conference of this magnitude requires significant efforts in organisation. The overwhelming support from educational/ financial institutions, government/ private companies, and professional accounting firms who perceive value in associating and participating makes things possible” said Sundaresan Rajeswar, a member of the conference committee.
