Winners of tickets to the 14th Annual May Queen Ball, organised by the Goan Welfare Association (GWA), was announced yesterday at the office of its media sponsor, Gulf Times.
The winning coupons were picked by Simon D’Silva, Hazel Rodrigues and Tania Rodrigues, president, general secretary and director (cultural) of GWA, respectively, in the presence of James John, marketing manager of Gulf Times.
The winners who get a ticket each to the event are Antonio Desouza, Reggi Carvalo, Elena Noronha and Stacy Rodrigues.
The event will be held at Radisson Blu Doha on May 8 from 8.30pm.
Leading Bollywood character actor Aditya Lakhia and popular Indian television actress Aashka Goradia will crown this year’s May Queen.
Former Goa chief minister Luizinho Faleiro will be the chief guest.
Archies, a celebrated band from the western Indian state of Goa, will entertain the gathering along with DJ Glorio and compere Updesh Swar.
The highlight of the event will be the crowning of the May Queen by the celebrities and the prizes on offer include gold, airline tickets, free accommodation in five-star hotels, electronic items among others.
