As part of the Emir Cup trophy tour, the trophy visited Jassim bin Hamad Independent High School, Doha Independent Secondary School, Al Yarmouk Middle School, and Omar Ibn Al Khattab School yesterday to give the students the opportunity to see the famous trophy. The trophy tour is scheduled to make stops at various schools in Doha.
The students gathered enthusiastically around the trophy to take pictures with it.
The tour included a brief session about the HH Emir Cup tournament which was delivered by QFA staff. Students eagerly took part in the open discussion and expressed their excitement about the forthcoming matches of the tournament. Jassim bin Hamad Independent High School organised a football tournament in celebration of the arrival of the trophy to their school.
Ahmed al-Jufairy, Student Affairs Director of Oman Ibn Al Khattab School, said: “We thank QFA for making a stop at our school and give our students the opportunity to witness this iconic trophy of the most important tournament of the year. The students are thrilled to see the trophy and take pictures with it and are very eager to watch the final match in Khalifa International Stadium.”
Round 3 of Emir Cup matches will take place today at Al Arabi and Qatar Sports Club. Two simultaneous matches will be played, first ones at 5:15pm and second ones at 7:45pm. The matches of Round 3 are Qatar SC vs. Al Ahli, Al Khor vs. Umm Slal, Al Wakrah vs. Al Arabi, Al Kharaitiyat vs. Al Gharrafa. There will also be school performances taking place between the first and second match. In Al Arabi Stadium, Al Khor International School students will perform after the first match concludes. In Qatar Sports Club, The Lebanese School students will perform a traditional dance.
There will be even more exciting trophy tours coming up in the build-up to the final match.
