Cathay Pacific Airways, Hong Kong’s flagship airline, yesterday celebrated the launch of its new service between Doha and Hong Kong. |
The first flight from Hong Kong touched down at Doha International Airport (DIA) on March 30 and was welcomed with a traditional water cannon salute.
Cathay Pacific offers a network covering over 180 destinations via its Hong Kong hub. To celebrate the launch of this new service, the airline is offering a special introductory fare to passengers travelling from Qatar to all destinations beyond Hong Kong on the airline’s international network.
The introductory fare offer is available for sale for a limited period, until April 30, on Cathay Pacific-operated flights only. Bookings can be made through the airline’s official website at www.cathaypacific.com/qatar or Cathay Pacific’s reservation office in Doha.
Cathay Pacific’s new service between Doha and Hong Kong is operated by the airline’s fleet of A330-300 aircraft featuring its award-winning Business Class, new Premium Economy and refreshed Economy Class.
Cathay Pacific’s new services between Doha and Hong Kong are the result of a strategic agreement with Oneworld Alliance partner, Qatar Airways. The new agreement will give customers of both airlines more opportunities to earn and redeem frequent flyer points or miles.
Top-tier members from Cathay Pacific’s The Marco Polo Club and Qatar Airways’ The Privilege Club will enjoy reciprocal benefits when travelling on flights between Hong Kong and Qatar, including lounge access, extra baggage allowances, priority boarding and many other priority services.
Speaking at the first flight ceremony in DIA, Cathay Pacific country manager (Qatar and UAE) Brian Yuen said: “We are delighted to add Doha to our network and offer our passengers greater choice and convenience when travelling to Hong Kong and beyond. Our award-winning in-flight products delivered by the world’s best cabin crew will ensure that our passengers arrive at their destination relaxed and refreshed.”
Abdulaziz al-Mass, senior manager, Public Relations and Communications at DIA, said: “We celebrated Cathay Pacific’s debut in Qatar with a water cannon salute and look forward to welcoming its passengers at Doha International Airport. The start of Cathay Pacific’s services to DIA underlines Qatar’s ever-growing importance as an international transport hub and opens onward travel options for passengers to Asia and beyond.
