The Public Health Department and the National Mental Health Implementation team at the Supreme Council of Health hosted a workshop on mental health promotion and prevention at Sharq Village recently. |
Over 80 representatives attended the workshop to share ideas on the implementation of the ‘objective one’ of the recently launched Qatar National Mental Health Strategy. There was strong engagement and collaboration across different sectors including healthcare providers, ministries, schools, universities, employers and NGOs.
The representatives discussed plans for mental health messages, communications, campaigns and information resources, promotion and prevention programmes in priority settings and target groups.
Feedback from the workshop will form the development of a national action plan for mental health promotion and prevention by this month. The action plan will outline the role of key organisations in Qatar to support mental health implementation for education and prevention initiatives.
