The winners of two Qatar Duty Free (QDF) draws have been announced this week. |
The first Millionaire draw of the year, conducted at Doha International Airport (DIA), saw Greek national Alexandros Parissis become the winner of the coveted $1mn cash prize.
QDF, a subsidiary of Qatar Airways, also drew the name of Rodelio Leonardo, a Filipino national, making him the owner of a brand-new Aston Martin V8 Vantage Coupe.
“I never expected that I would win the Millionaire draw, this will completely change my life. I am extremely grateful to Qatar Duty Free for the chance to win such an amazing prize,” said Parissis.
The draws were conducted inside the departures area at DIA and were presided over by Qatar Airways chief executive Akbar al-Baker.
“I offer my personal congratulations to the lucky winners. Qatar Duty Free has a long history of creating exciting moments for passengers entering the Millionaire and luxury car draws,” said al-Baker.
The winning ticket numbers were 1700 for the Millionaire draw and 1412 for the luxury car draw.
The Millionaire raffle was launched in May 2006, giving passengers the opportunity to win as each draw is made after 5,000 tickets are sold.
Departing and transiting passengers at DIA are able to purchase US dollar Millionaire raffle tickets for QR950 each. The luxury car draw tickets can also be bought from QDF.
