Ooredoo has announced that is has enhanced the Ooredoo Mobile Money service to enable customers to send money directly to bank accounts in the Philippines from their mobile phones.
The major upgrade adds new levels of convenience and security for Mobile Money customers who need to send cash to the Philippines, which is one of the most popular destinations for the service, Ooredoo has said in a statement.
Customers can now send money to accounts at more than 20 banks in the Philippines with MoneyGram and Ooredoo Mobile Money.
They can also send money to more than 9,500 MoneyGram agent locations across the country and enjoy one of the best exchange rates in Qatar, along with a fee of only QR1 per transfer until March 31, the statement adds.
With the new service upgrade, customers can simply dial *140# to begin registering for Ooredoo Mobile Money by adding their beneficiary details. Once registered, customers can deposit money into their Mobile Wallet Account via Ooredoo self-service machines or Ooredoo shops, and then transfer money directly from their mobile.
The service, which is powered by Qatar National Bank, offers round-the-clock access as well as incredible levels of security, according to the statement.
Customers can also check the current exchange rate and transfer fee for free via their own Mobile Money menu by dialling *140#.
With Ooredoo Mobile Money, customers can transfer money domestically and internationally, top up Hala prepaid accounts and pay Shahry bills using their mobile phones.
As well as sending money to the Philippines, customers can send money to 321,000 MoneyGram agent locations in 198 countries, including India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Tunisia, Kenya, Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria and more.
Sending money from mobile wallet account directly into bank accounts will soon be enabled for additional countries.
