Exhibitors in the construction and building materials sector during the previous installment of Project Qatar.
Two new conferences will be launched at the upcoming Project Qatar 2014, highlighting this year’s anticipated gathering of companies in the construction and building materials industry.
Tom Gore, managing director, Advanced Conferences and Meetings (ACM), said this year’s event, entitled “11th International Construction Technology and Building Materials Exhibition,” will be highlighted by the launching of LightingTech Qatar and HVACTech Qatar.
“LightingTech Qatar and HVACTech Qatar are exciting new platforms for two of the most critical areas of infrastructure opportunities and challenges in Qatar at present,” Gore said, adding that the specialist conferences will bring together leading players in their respective fields to discuss the latest case studies and technologies.
At least 2,100 companies from more than 50 countries are expected to join Project Qatar through May 12-15 at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) in Doha. The event is poised to be one of the Middle East’s prominent exhibitions for construction, sustainability, and building materials.
Qatar is at the heart of the growing construction industry in the GCC and internationally with $350bn worth of projects currently in the planning or construction phase.
To support this growth, Project Qatar 2014 has expanded the conference series. IFP Qatar has partnered with ACM to create a “unique business platform” for companies to network with leading consultants and meet local and international industry experts.
Gore said LightingTech Qatar will be launched on May 12-13 followed by HVACTech on May 14-15.
“LightingTech Qatar 2014 is designed to address the lighting industry needs specific to the Qatari market, in view of the current and upcoming construction projects and sustainability goals within Qatar,” he said, adding that LightingTech targets architects, designers, specifiers, construction professionals, project owners, as well as government officials and regulators in Qatar.
During the conference, industry experts will discuss innovative projects and solutions from across the region and the international market allowing participants to discover the latest technology advancements, government regulations, industry standards and product certifications that help address the specific needs of the lighting industry in Qatar.
“Moreover, lighting for roads, highways, expressways, stadiums and airports will be tackled in the form of high-profile case studies tailored to the exact needs of the Qatari market,” Gore explained.

The requirements needed to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the FIFA World Cup in 2022 have increased the commercial, residential, and industrial infrastructure developments in the country.
“The requirements for energy and cost efficient cooling and ventilation systems are rapidly increasing and the positive impact of this is already being felt by the HVAC industry,” Gore said.
HVACTech Qatar 2014 will bring together private and government project owners, planning bodies, contractors and consultants, utility operators and companies (water, power and district cooling), regulators and solution providers in a specialised forum to address the latest opportunities and challenges in the HVAC and cooling industries.
The conference will also showcase solutions that meet the demands faced by the HVAC and cooling industries in the hot, arid, dusty climatic conditions of the Gulf countries while addressing ways how technology can help enable reduced and energy efficient power generation requirements.
