Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has organised a public event to provide awareness on its ambulance services with its new campaign “Help us to Help You” at the Aspire Park. A large number of people from various walks of life attended the day-long event on Saturday.
Speaking to Gulf Times during the event, the operations manger of Ambulance Services at HMC said that it was the launch of a new campaign to spread awareness on ambulance services .
“This is an opportunity for the public to get to know the ambulance services closely. They can go around the ambulances and see the equipment. Many of the staff members are also giving a display of the services that are provided in emergency situations. This will help the public be better prepared in case of an emergency.”
“There are three helicopter ambulances out of which two are operating 24 hours a day and seven days a week. One is always a standby to meet any other emergency situation. There are 68 ambulances covering Doha everyday in case of emergencies.”
He also said that there were another 30 ambulances for transporting patients. “We have also some ambulances for advanced services such as critical care services and rapid assistance.They do not transport people but go along with other ambulances to provide emergency assistance to patients,” he added.
