Ooredoo has announced that it is extending the “Ooredoo Mobile Money Free QR10” promo to enable new customers to instantly receive a one-time QR10 balance in their mobile wallet when registering and logging in to its mobile money service.

Also, the Ooredoo Mobile Money promo will continue to offer just QR1 for MoneyGram money transfers to 198
countries.

Both offers will now be available until March 31 to allow customers “more time to enjoy Ooredoo Mobile Money’s
promotions.”

As part of Ooredoo’s ongoing #OoredooSmart campaign, the company also held a workshop aimed to educate and entertain customers on the Ooredoo Mobile Money service. The event, entitled “Meet the Mobile Money Stars,” was held at the Crowne Plaza and drew a host of customers from across Doha’s diverse communities.

The workshop, which generated awareness about the new and ongoing promotions of Ooredoo Mobile Money (OMM), also highlighted “the most convenient and the cost effective reasons for using the mobile transfer system.”

Activities at the workshop included a talk on Ooredoo Mobile Money services, a general knowledge quiz, raffle draws, and snacks. The winners of the quiz got a QR300 LuLu voucher each while six raffle winners won QR100 vouchers.

Ooredoo regularly holds events to educate customers on their products and services, and will continue to offer a range of promotions and incentives throughout 2014, the
company said.

Ooredoo provides mobile money services for more than one million customers worldwide “and has developed in-depth expertise to ensure that customers enjoy the full flexibility, security and convenience of the service.”

In 2013, Ooredoo Mobile Money became one of the fastest-growing financial services in Qatar with millions of riyals being sent from Qatar to over 90 countries including the Philippines, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Tunisia, Kenya, Cameroon, Nigeria, among others.

With Ooredoo Mobile Money, customers can transfer money domestically and internationally, top up their own and their family’s pre-paid Hala accounts, and pay Shahry bills by just using their mobile phones.

To qualify for the promotions, new users have to simply dial *140# on their mobile phone to register, and set up their six-digit mPIN.

Once registered, customers can then deposit money into their mobile wallet through any Ooredoo shop or the 200 Ooredoo machines located throughout Qatar. Money can also be transferred into a customer’s mobile wallet directly from their QNB bank accounts.
