Ahlibank Qatar has launched ‘Priority Pass Card’, which offers its platinum credit cardholders free access to VIP airport lounges across the world.

The move comes as part of the lender’s efforts to strengthen its retail banking business as well as better serve its premium customers.

The new card would be offered complimentary to all platinum cardholders to provide them access to more than 600 airport lounges in more than 300 cities in over 100 countries, regardless of class of travel or choice of airline.

Each customer gets 10 visits per year free access and once the limit is exceeded, applicable charges would be deducted from the credit card, according to Hassan Ahmed al-Efrangi, head of branches, Ahlibank Qatar.

The bank’s platinum cardholders have a credit limit of QR25,000 and the minimum monthly salary needed to get the platinum credit card is QR12,500.

Ahli platinum card is the flagship credit card tailored around its premium customers and has been developed to enable one to enjoy distinctive preferences.

“The priority pass card is a unique product that reflects our commitment to provide our valuable customers with innovative and value-added products and services and thereby continue our journey on the road to excellence,” al-Efrangi said.

The card also comes with several other privileges in the airport lounges such as access to business facilities such as e-mail, internet, phones, fax and conference space in some lounges.

Customers could either download the priority pass apps for Android, Blackberry, iPhone and iPad or use the SMS lounge finder service, a mobile friendly website for the lounge finder on www.prioritypass.com.
