HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani has issued a number of decrees pertaining to the formation of the Supreme Council of Police College and appointment of the director-general, dean of Academic Affairs and departmental heads of the college. |
HE the Interior Minister’s decree No 16/2014 appoints Brig Dr Mohamed Abdulla Talib al-Mahanna al-Marri as director-general of the Police College, while decree No 17/2014 appoints Dr Hassan Abdul Raheem al-Sayyed as dean of Academic Affairs.
Decree No 18/2014 pertains to the appointment of Capt Dr Jabr Hammoud Jabr al-Nuaimi as director of the Administrative and Financial Affairs Department of the Police College and Capt Fahd Saeed al-Subaiee as director of the Training Department.
A Supreme Council has been formed for the Police College according to decree No 19/2014. It includes HE Sheikh Abdullah (chairman); Maj Gen Dr Abdullah Yousuf al-Maal, legal adviser to HE the Interior Minister (vice-chairman); Brig Dr Mohamed (member); Brig Mahdi Mutlaq al-Qahtani, director of the Training and Patrols Department at Lekhwiya (member); Brig Badr Ibrahim al-Ghanem, director of the Technical Office for HE the Interior Minister (member and rapporteur); Col Abdul Rahman Majid al-Sulaiti, director of the Strategic Planning Department in the Ministry of Interior (member); Dr Hassan Okour, dean of Qatar University’s College of Law (member); Dr Khaled Mohamed al-Hur (member); Dr Yousuf Mohamed Obaidan Fakhroo (member); and Dr Ahmed Hassan al-Hadi (member).
Membership to the Supreme Council will be for four years and can be extended for a similar period. The council will establish a system of work that includes necessary rules for the exercise of its powers and will have all the powers necessary to overcome any obstacles. It also has the right to form sub-committees or working groups as required.
