HE Dr al-Sada and al-Abdulla: Great achievement.
Muntajat BV, the international marketing arm of Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Company, recently opened five international marketing offices at Amman, Melbourne, Cape Town, Kuala Lumpur and Istanbul.
The offices will provide local and customised services to Muntajat’s customer base while developing new business for Qatar’s downstream products.
Muntajat, launched in 2012, holds exclusive rights to globally “market, sell and distribute” chemicals, polymers and fertilisers produced in Qatar.
Muntajat BV is a corporation that has been established in the Netherlands.
HE the Minister of Energy and Industry, Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada, also Muntajat chairman, congratulated the Muntajat BV team on the company’s accomplishment.
Al-Sada said, “The opening of Muntajat BV’s first global offices represents a great achievement not only for Muntajat but also for Qatar. With the planned increase in Qatar’s output of chemical and petrochemical products to reach 23mn tonnes by 2020, the new offices will play an important role in bringing our products to the world.”
Al-Sada described the “expanding global reach” of Muntajat as a catalyst in positioning Qatar as a major player in the international downstream industry.
Muntajat BV provides marketing services to Muntajat through a network of local marketing offices (LMOs). These offices are being established in strategic markets around the world to serve both local customers and customers in nearby countries and expand Muntajat’s global reach. Muntajat BV is planning to open up to 36 LMOs in stages with these five offices among the first set.
Muntajat chief executive officer Abdulrahman Ali al-Abdulla described the opening of the first set of Muntajat BV global offices as an “important milestone” for the company.
He said, “Our focus for 2014 will be growing our international reach, building scale and continuing to strongly represent Qatar’s downstream industry.”
