The Al Shaqab team celebrating after Wadee Al Shaqab was declared the Champion Stallion during the 23rd Qatar International Equestrian Festival at the outdoor arena of the Qatar Equestrian Federation in Doha yesterday. Saudi Arabia’s Marquis was adjudged second ahead of LVA Maximus. The Qatar International Horse Show has attracted more than 200 horses from Oman, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. The eight-day festival, which is held under the patronage of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, culminates with the running of HH The Emir’s Sword race on February 27 at the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club.
