A Kerala expatriate organisation, SD College Alleppey Alumni Association in Qatar, will hold a musical programme at the Regency Hall in Doha on April 11.
The musical show, called “Hridayaragangal Part-2”, will be conducted by leading composer Rajamani.
Rajamani was in Doha to sign the agreement.
“This will be a tribute to the maestros of the Malayalam film music Dakshinamoorthy, K Raghavan, Devarajan, Baburaj and Chidambaranath,” said Rajamani who is the son of eminent music director V Chidambaranath.
“Leading singers of the Malayalam film industry, including Madhu Balakrishnan, Swetha Mohan, Sithara, Nishad and Achu (Rajamani’s son), will perform with a live orchestra troupe who will be specially flown in for the event,” he said.
“Hridayaragangal Part-1 was a unique experience for the music lovers of Doha, when it was performed at the Royal Tent of Diplomatic Club last year,” a spokesman of the alumni association said yesterday.
“A number of music fans in Qatar have been pressing us to hold an event once again with the same concept. Hence Hridayaragangal Part-2 ,” he added.
“It would be a memorable experience this year as well.”
He said that tickets for the show would be available at the Indian Cultural Center and various outlets from March first week.
“The three-hour programme will feature the hit Malayalam film songs of 1970’s like Polthinkalkala, Ente Swapnathin, Ravivarma Chithrathin, Indravallari, Kayampoo, Alliyambal and Sooryakanthi, etc.”
