The United Development Company (UDC) and Blue Salon signed an agreement yesterday to open a series of retail outlets of leading global brands at The Pearl-Qatar.

“Our contract with Blue Salon consists of 18 shops that will cover around 3,600sqm. In the coming days, we will have another signing (ceremony) with some more developers,” UDC’s acting CEO Badr al-Meer said.

The agreement was signed by al-Meer and Blue Salon vice chairman Nabil Abu Issa.

Under the terms of the agreement, Blue Salon will facilitate the opening of retail outlets of leading brands, including Blue Salon Kids, Nespresso, Ethan Allen, Samsung, Mimisol, Toys 4 me, Pressto, Gina, Kartell and Oasis of Soul.

“The Pearl-Qatar has succeeded in attracting some of the world’s leading brands by virtue of special environment at the iconic island, which combines fun shopping on the waterfront, the presence of high-end marinas, and also the elegant design of the shops that have been inspired by Italian, Spanish and Moroccan architecture,” al-Meer said.

“With more unique shops and restaurants, The Pearl-Qatar features high-quality merchandise, world-class food and the best in fashion and offers exceptional shopping, extraordinary dining and exhilarating experience for all ages. The presence of these global brands at The Pearl-Qatar, one of the best projects in the region, will further raise the profile of the island,” he added.

Abu Issa described the opening of new brands at The Pearl-Qatar as an important step within Blue Salon’s strategy to provide superior products.

“We believe the new outlets will be a tremendous addition to The Pearl-Qatar, particularly in terms of our focus on proving access to quality brands and products in an environment dedicated to customer service and satisfaction.

“The Pearl-Qatar represents a unique combination of architectural designs with international standards, which include interior designs and artistic touches that are compatible with our high-end retail environment.”

He explained that The Pearl-Qatar with a number of retail shops, world-class restaurants and recreational facilities will position as a destination for distinctive luxury and elegance.

Ehab Kamel, general manager, Retail Leasing, UDC, said there will be many value additions to the outlets including big entertainment concepts featuring cinemas, specially designed food and beverages, and seafood sections. Fawaz Idrissi, CEO of Blue Salon was also present.
