HE the Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani presided over the Cabinet weekly regular session held yesterday at the Emiri Diwan.
After the meeting, HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullahbin Zaid al-Mahmoud stated the following:
The Cabinet discussed topics tabled on the agenda as follows:
First: Approved a draft law exempting works of the railways network project from the enforcement of rules of Law No. 4 of 1985 on the regulation of buildings and decided to refer it to the Advisory Council.
The exemption was due to the special nature and the strategic importance of the Qatari railways network construction project as one of the state’s national projects.
Second: Approved Qatar’s third and fourth joint report on the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child 2013, which was prepared by the committee set up by a Cabinet decision under the Supreme Council for Family Affairs.
Third: Approved the hosting of the 12th annual meeting of the Association of Tax Authorities of Islamic Countries (ATAIC) in Doha during 2015.
Fourth: Taking necessary measures for the signing and endorsement of the constituent of the higher Arab legacy authority.
The authority is a non-governmental organisation working within the framework of the Arab League with the aim of establishing a unified structure to collect Arab ancient and contemporary literary and scientific works in the form of a text data base and live texts, as well as rendering this bank available for concerned persons, researchers and students worldwide through its website on the Internet.
Fifth: The Cabinet reviewed the following two topics and took the appropriate decision:
1- A letter by HE the Minister of Economy and Trade on the outcome of the 48th meeting of the GCC Trade Cooperation Committee , held in Riyadh in October 2013.
2- A letter by HE the Minister of Communications on the outcome of the 26th session of the Arab Transport Ministers Council, held in Alexandria in October 2013.
