| Amari Doha: star property |
The Middle East’s first Amari hotel will open in Doha before the year-end signalling the Thai-based group’s foray into the region.
Amari Doha at Msheireb will be a 13 storey property featuring some 120 “contemporary designed fully appointed” rooms, including 78 superior rooms, 36 deluxe rooms and six suites.
With an array of cultural attractions, shopping and entertainment venues and the central business district all within reach, the hotel’s “convenient location is ideal” for business and leisure travellers alike.
Amari is a key brand of the ONYX Hospitality Group, which is one of Asia-Pacific’s leading hospitality management companies with a portfolio that includes some 33 operational properties across Asia and many properties being developed rapidly.
Amari Doha general manager Damian Ball said: “Guests of the Amari Doha will be warmly welcomed, well taken care of, and encouraged to acquaint themselves with all that Doha has to offer.”
“To this end a special Amari host will be at hand within the property to advise guests on the city’s best attractions, points of interests, popular dining and entertainment hot spots, as well as cultural events and more. Whether for business or pleasure we wish to ensure that our guests make the most of their time in this bourgeoning city,” Ball told Gulf Times recently.
The star property in Doha will provide fun and easy treatments at its Breeze Spa, warm and friendly food and beverage outlets, interactive leisure facilities including swimming and children’s pools, a fitness centre and for visiting executives a business centre, conferencing and banqueting facilities.
An Australian graduate in tourism and hospitality, Ball has an extensive background in the industry, spanning 18 years of experience in the Asia-Pacific region. He has held various management and general management positions at different international resorts/hotels, including Australia, the Philippines and the Maldives.
